More information and an online application form for the 2021 Gilroy Garlic Festival Art Poster Contest will be posted in January. Please check back then for more details.

Artist Chloe Crossman’s heart-warming poster was awarded First Place in the 2019 Gilroy Garlic Festival Art Poster Contest. As First Place winner, Crossman received a $500 prize, and prints of her winning design were available for sale during the 2019 Gilroy Garlic Festival.

Crossman grew up in Berkeley and Oakland and recently moved to Gardena in Southern California, where she works at Warby Parker. She says she has been making art—and loving garlic—for as long as she can remember. In her watercolor poster, she wanted to create something fun and fresh that focused on the beauty of garlic flowers and also captured the spirit of the Gilroy Garlic Festival.

William Harris of Maricopa, Arizona won second place and a $250 prize. Third place and a $100 prize went to Priscilla Martinez from Watsonville, California. Martinez also won $200 for the Association’s Choice prize, voted on by volunteer members of the Gilroy Garlic Festival Association.
