This year the Gilroy Garlic Festival will be celebrating 40 years of family fun—and artists across the country are invited to submit their original artwork for the chance to win cash prizes in the 2018 Gilroy Garlic Festival Art Poster Contest.
The Gilroy Garlic Festival will be celebrating 40 years of family fun in 2018—including the Great Garlic Cook-Off, the amateur cooking competition that has been an annual tradition since the very first Garlic Festival in 1979.
The Gilroy Garlic Festival Association announced distributions totaling $275,000 to 146 different charities and non-profit organizations. The 2017 figure brings the Garlic Festival’s 39-year total distributions to $11.5 million.
The 39th annual Gilroy Garlic Festival welcomed 102,667 guests from around the world to Christmas Hill Park this past weekend to enjoy tasty garlic food, live entertainment, celebrity chef appearances, and family fun.

Professional chefs will face off in the iron chef-style Garlic Showdown cooking competition at high noon on Sunday, July 30, at the 39th annual Gilroy Garlic Festival. Each contestant will have to prepare two entrees and side dishes using a top-secret ingredient (along with plenty of garlic, of course).
