Miss Gilroy Garlic 2009

On Sunday, May 17, 2009 Jessica Brewka of Morgan Hill was crowned Miss Gilroy Garlic Festival 2009. Jessica, 22, is a graduate of Archbishop Mitty High School and The University of San Francisco. She received a bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in criminal justice. While attending college she was a very active member of Sigma Tau Delta. Jessica was also the captain on the USF spirit squad. Jessica’s future plans are to attend Santa Clara University in the fall to obtain her masters in teaching. Jessica was awarded scholarships from the Gilroy Garlic Festival Association and from the Past Presidents. She performed a “Drill Sargeant Garlic” speech and her talent was a vocal performance called Taylor the Latte Boy.

I hope to attend, as I have for the past few years. Bad economy or not - we need Garlic. Good luck in Santa Clara, Jessica.
