Chef Michael Fisher from Fishers Delicatessen & Catering in Hollister, CA won the annual Garlic Showdown at the 2016 Gilroy Garlic Festival on Sunday, July 31.
In the Iron Chef-style Garlic Showdown, top professional chefs compete against each other in a timed challenge to create two dishes using include secret ingredients that are revealed during the contest. This year’s secret ingredients were Silva sausage, Cracker Jacks, and orange flesh melon. The event was hosted by three-time Showdown Champion Chef Jason Gronlund.
Fisher was awarded a $3,000 prize.
